This guide will walk you through the process of updating your SAML Single Sign-On (SSO) certificate in Cheqroom. If your current certificate has expired or is about to expire, it's important to update it to avoid any authentication disruptions for your users.

Why Do You Need to Update Your SAML SSO Certificate?

SAML certificates ensure secure communication between your Identity Provider (IdP) and Cheqroom. Over time, these certificates can expire, or their validity may need to be renewed for security reasons. If the certificate has expired or is close to expiring, it could result in authentication failures and prevent users from logging into Cheqroom using SSO.

When Should You Update Your SAML SSO Certificate?

  • Certificate Expiry: If you receive a notification that your SSO certificate is nearing its expiration date, it’s important to replace it before it expires to ensure continued access.

  • Security Maintenance: You should periodically rotate your certificates to maintain a high level of security.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, ensure that you have:

  1. Access to your Identity Provider (IdP): Administrator access to the IdP where the SAML certificate is managed.

  2. Access to your Cheqroom account: Admin rights in Cheqroom to update the SSO configuration.

  3. New SAML IdP Metadata: You will need the new metadata file or a URL to the metadata containing the updated certificate. This metadata will include the new certificate and any other changes made by your IdP.
